Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is Fit for Food
Our Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C has been one of the most versatile wood oils for many years now. You can apply it to floors, furniture, stairs… And our oil is also ideal for worktops and other surfaces where food is involved. We can say that Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is Fit for Food. But what does that mean? Is it food safe?
As we have the Toy standard EN 71-3, we also want to make sure that our Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C can be used on wood that comes into contact with food. That’s why Eurofins provided us the Fit for Food Declaration. Fit for Food ensures full compliance with the harmonized legislative requirements in Europe for all types of food contact materials. Manufacturing and testing of products for food contact is often handled as a necessity due to legislative requirements or market demands.
We can from now on state that, if Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C (A+B) is used on a wooden surface that is in itself food safe, then the combination of the wood and our Oil Plus 2C is also safe and therefore ‘Fit for Food’, in regulation with EC n° 1935/2004. This declaration is the result of an official test, done by Eurofins, an official independent testing institute.
